Red Bull Ultra Natural Timber Games

For this year’s Red Bull Ultra Natural Travis Rice and event director Liam Griffin opted to again bring back timber sports as a means to determine drop order. Much more interesting than simply pulling names out of a hat, the timber games pitted each rider against the clock, limited by their own ability to saw a log, hammer a 9-inch nail and bulls-eye an ax throw. Of the 16 invited riders all took part, except Terje, who in his wisdom substituted the actual lumberjack who built much of the Ultra Natural course. Needless to say Terje “won.” That’s called working smarter not harder. The results enabled Terje to choose when he would like to drop in. His Paul Bunyan friend chose fourth on the list. Let a few rookies guinea pig it but leave some pow in the landings. Very wise indeed.  Ultra Natural timber games are amazing to behold and we just hope these photos do it justice.  BTW – the spirit award goes to New Hampshire native, Pat Moore, who’s beard and flannel captured the moment perfectly. See video of Pat in action.
