December 1, 2016: Boulder, CO: For every pair of goggles sold online this December, ZEAL Optics will work with American Forests to plant a tree in the Rocky Mountain backcountry as part of its annual “Buy A Goggle, Plant A Tree” program.

Last year, ZEAL’s customers helped plant more than 1,000 pine trees with the launch of this program – this winter, the goal, with your help, is to double the impact on Western forests. Why? Because trees are the gifts that keep on giving. Skiing, riding, hiking, camping — a healthy wilderness is vital in all our lives as outdoor enthusiasts.

“American Forests is thrilled to be partnering with ZEAL Optics,” says Lea Sloan, American Forests VP of Communications. “ZEAL Optic’s investment in working with us to protect and restore forests shows their genuine commitment to sustaining a healthy planet for all who love exploring and adventuring. Forests are essential sources of clean air and pure water, and to cooling the planet and slowing the effects of climate change.”

Inspired by ZEAL’s Project 5480, which plants 5,480 trees, the elevation of ZEAL’s Colorado headquarters, annually with American Forests to help offset ZEAL’s environmental footprint and to protect our amazing outdoor resources — Buy A Goggle, Plant A Tree was launched to directly connect its community with the program and inspire them to think about how they can vote with their dollars.

“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing this program back and to deepen our relationship with American Forests,” explains ZEAL Director of Brand Activation & Digital Strategy Mike Lewis. “The response to this program last year was so amazing and American Forests does such a great job of not only planting, but protecting forests, that this partnership truly embodies our ethos of ‘Use Less, Give Back & Explore More.’”

For the entire month of December, ZEAL will plant a tree for every goggle or accessory lens sold on zealoptics.com or in ZEAL’s Boulder Showroom. You can follow the adventure on social media with the hashtag #TreesTheSeason, where ZEAL will be sharing winter adventures in the woods, along with updates on how many trees our community has helped us donate.

This holiday season, help ZEAL protect our forests while experiencing winter like never before through ZEAL’s unrivaled optics and lens technologies.
