Epic is about the only way to describe the 2017 Burton US Open Men’s Slopestyle Finals. With perfect weather and the most progressive course yet, ten of the world’s best riders were going all out. The entire field was switching things up, some even putting down tricks they’ve never tried before.
Mark McMorris (86.95) came out swinging on his first run and nobody could keep up. His switch backside 1620 triple on the final hit was the first he’d ever tried in a slope contest. Mark’s win makes him a 3-time Burton US Open champion. Fellow Canadian and Burton Team rider Mikey Ciccarelli (82.65), a former Junior Jam competitor, put it down to take second with a Cab 1,620 amongst other mathematical moves. Sven Thorgren (81.85) rounded things out in third with a wild run that included a double backside rodeo off the Red Bull feature.
