In 2007 pro snowboarder Priscilla Levac founded a women's apparel line that looked to capitalize on a trend by providing a technical solution to a fashion faux pas.
The faux pas? Thigh length XXL t-shirts that passed the on-hill fashion test but failed the Mother Nature test - namely soggy, soaked and frozen rear ends, complete with crusty snowballs and a rather ridiculous end of day sag. Seeing an opportunity, Ms. Levac designed Cilla - a functional first layer fix to below-the-waist wetness combined with a colorful collection of interchangeable patterns.

Understanding innately that ladies like to switch up their look now and again, Cilla allowed one set of outerwear to be combined with various Cilla first layers providing multiple options. Early adopters of Cilla product include current official team members and high profile pros Marie France Roy, Hana Beaman, Alexis Waite and Taylor Godber.

Expanding the line in 2008 Cilla introduced the Bratt bottom, an intelligent 3/4 first layer fleece pant system, that solved the problem of first layer meets forward-lean-sock boot bunching. Growth, however, was not the only concern - because throughout the brand's initial expansion an ethos of highly eco-concious production was integral: utilizing greener fabrics, local manufacturing and minimal packaging.

For 2009 Cilla launches the all new Cilla.ca with a sleek flash interface showcasing a simple yet refined product line, the familiar and fashion forward faces of team Cilla, a blog, and a personal statement from Ms. Levac herself.

"I'm really excited about the new site and where things are going with Cilla," says Priscilla. "The response from girls everywhere has been amazing and really motivating. I'm realizing how fun it is to wear Cilla for everything. Girls have been wearing it for hiking, biking, yoga... even just hanging out. Stay in touch with my blog and if you have any questions or comments you can leave them there."
