Surfing the edge of Africa

Pat Gudauskas has never been one for sitting still. He spends a majority of his year living out of a suitcase and board bag, sprinting through airports, exploring cityscapes, and hiking to far-flung waves. For Pat, it’s about embracing the range of experiences you get from balancing freedom and focus, competing and freesurfing around the world. Gudauskas and co. spent 6 weeks bouncing from Skeleton Bay’s grinding left to Jeffery’s Bay’s unrivaled right-hand perfection, then on to Durban and Ballito to compete in the Qualifying Series and connect with the local community. Join Gudauskas on his journey in our latest profile film, “Edge of Africa.” Presented by Vans
