The proper way to greet a lady was on full display recently at the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation in Mexico City where a lion named Miki turned on the charm with a chocolate lab named Camila.
Miki, in a perfect example of how to be a gentleman, approached a tail-wagging Camila, picked up her paw and gave her a kiss. Toy Quest 101 posted the adorable video to Instagram:
Alas, after the initial peck on the paw, Miki went too far, giving an example of how not to be a gentleman by attempting to do it again. Camila wasn’t having any of it, turning around and running away.
Despite the rejection, Camila and Miki remain fast friends. They are literally inseparable.
“What an amazing bond,” Toy Quest 101 wrote on Instagram. “Since they were babies. They grew up together and now they are best friends.”
Added the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation when it later posted the video on Facebook: “Miki and Camila have been together all their lives, way before we rescued them. And if they’re not together, they get super nervous. The Magic of Love.”
Toy Quest 101 is a father-daughter video-creating duo with Illiana, a 10-year-old autistic girl, at the center of the team. She and her father visited the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation and came away impressed with the rescue facility for big felines, which includes lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards and others.
“I am beyond words and grateful for such a kind gesture for allowing me and my family to enjoy such an amazing adventure together,” Illiana’s father wrote, according to the Daily Mail.
“Everyone at @blackjaguarwhitetiger was so humble and kind and loving. I can’t help to say coming from a neutral position for those who doubt the foundations credibility, take it from me I have never in my years of travel, volunteer work and zoo visits have seen such a beautiful place where the animals are clean healthy and most of all happy.”
Including Miki and Camila.
