Watch giraffe shatter car window as passenger attempts to roll it up

The rules of the safari drive-through at West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire, England, allow tourists to feed the animals by sticking a hand outside a half-open window.

These tourists apparently didn’t get the message Sunday as they left the passenger side window wide open, allowing for a giraffe to stick its head inside the car to eat food directly from a container, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Apparently realizing her mistake, the woman started rolling up the window into its proper position. Unfortunately, the giraffe didn’t budge. But the window did. It broke into pieces in an explosion that turned laughter into concern.

“Oh God!” the woman in the adjoining car exclaimed. “Are you all right? Do you want me to try and call someone.”

The driver recording the video suggested the giraffe might be injured so he honked and called for officials from the safari to check out the giraffe. That’s where the video ends.

But the driver later told the Daily Mail, “I recorded this, I can assure you the giraffe was perfectly fine. I honked the horn for the keepers to come over. I pointed out the giraffe and they used food as bait to get a closer look. They were happy that it wasn’t hurt and let it be.

“The passenger did have some cuts. In fact, we had lots of glass in our car, on my lap and on the dash.

“No idea why the window was raised.”

Definitely a bad idea.
