No two waves are alike. Photo is a video screen grab

The Internet is littered with videos showing surfers ripping apart perfect waves, but on Sunday the World Surf League shared surreal footage of a sun-illuminated wave breaking on its own, beneath a simple and apt suggestion: “Take a moment.”

And the Internet audience was beyond pleased, as nearly 1.2 million viewers have since enjoyed the mesmerizing beauty and raw power of a towering ocean swell as it greets the coast, displayed through the brilliant camera work of Conor Hegyi.

One of the top comments was posted by Jeremy Paul: “The most beautiful things in this world occur due to water combined with light! Waves, waterfalls, sunsets, ice caves, snow covered mountains, clouds, mist, oceans, rivers, lakes, streams, etc.”

Added Carroll Willey: “Nature (especially the ocean) is stunningly beautiful – poetry in motion!”

To be sure, if you appreciate Mother Nature’s artistic qualities, enhanced through photography, this will be worth 29 seconds of your time.
