Watch raging elephant destroy tourist’s windshield with its trunk

A raging elephant with an apparent limp approached a tourist’s vehicle in Sri Lanka and proceeded to destroy the windshield with its trunk before the driver put it into reverse and sped backward away from the animal.

Even then, the elephant followed the vehicle for a distance before the driver put the animal out of sight.

The incident occurred last week near the Sithulpawwa Buddhist Monastery in Katharagama.

Sachith Kularathna posted video of the attack on Facebook and warned people who are driving Sithulpauwa Thissa Road to be careful.

“These elephants are now chasing vehicles on this road,” he wrote. “They are seeking foods from the vehicles and definitely can attack.”

Photo is a screen grab from the video.
