Vans Pro Classics Styled By Skateboarding Legend Ray Barbee

Costa Mesa, CALIF. (September 17, 2018) – Vans partners with long-time global skate team legend, Ray Barbee to create custom Vans Pro Classic colorways of the Half Cab Pro and Old Skool Pro. Built to last with a classic aesthetic, these Barbee-inspired Half Cab Pro and Old Skool Pros are dressed in deluxe emerald and burgundy suede uppers with white cotton laces and contrast stitching. Showcasing never before seen Vans graphics from the early 90’s, these functional Pro Classics highlight an elephant motif liner as an homage to Barbee’s friend and fellow Vans family member, Salman Agah, whose original pro board featured the graphic.

Vans Pro Classics combine quality craftsmanship with influential feedback from the legendary Vans Pro Skate team to deliver innovative, pro-tested product. With proven technology engineered from decades of design heritage, Vans Pro Classics are built with high-impact UltraCush HD sockliners for superior cushioning, Duracap-reinforced uppers for lasting durability, and Vans’ trusted original waffle compound for the stickiest grip you could ever ask for.

Ray Barbee has been praised for his effortlessly smooth and creative style for over 30 years. Known as a true pioneer of street skating, Ray Barbee’s no-comply variations and unique skateboarding style changed the game in the late 80’s. With the Vans skate team since 1989, Barbee’s creative endeavors are mixed into photography and music, with multiple record releases as a solo artist with The Mattson 2 and fellow Bones Brigade member, Tommy Guerrero. Decades later, Ray’s infectious smile, humble demeanor and upbeat positive attitude still graces the skate, art and music community today.
